Why Colombia?

Picture this: Colombia, South America's rising star, is making serious waves in the software development world. Remember when the Beatles started out at The Cavern Club? That's what Colombia's tech scene feels like right now, full of promise and potential.

Let's face it, when you think of tech giants, Colombia may not initially come to mind. But we're talking about an industry that's exploding with innovation, much the same way Silicon Valley did years ago. A lot of that innovation is coming from developers who are honing their craft while working for US companies, or going at it alone with their own startups.

Their tech prowess isn't going unnoticed, 33% of those who outsource services, including software development, are from the United States. This burgeoning industry is estimated to have a value of $8.52 billion, reaching skyward to an anticipated $12.98 billion by 2026.

But we're not just talking about a tech industry that's growing in numbers. We're talking about an industry that's growing in prestige. Bogota and Medellin, for example, have built some serious credibility and are now considered the Silicon Valley of Latin America. The progress doesn't stop there. The Colombian tech scene has been on an upward trajectory since 2010, contributing almost 3% to the nation's GDP. Colombia has 11 submarine communications cables, making it the runner-up for best telecommunications infrastructure in the Americas.

STEM Talent

The Argentine Diamond in the RoughSince 2015, Argentina has been producing more than 20,000 STEM graduates every year. For every 5,000 Argentinians, one is an engineering graduate. Across Argentina, over 39 computer science programs are available at prominent institutions like National Technical University, Buenos Aires Institute of Technology, National University of Buenos Aires, CITECH, and others. Moreover, fostering the next-gen tech talent, the Argentine Government initiated 'Plan 111Mil' to train 100,000+ developers.

Win-Win

In offshoring software development to Colombia tech companies and startups are getting more bang for their buck, while also leveraging a broad talent pool, easier compliance requirements, and beneficial salary ranges. A large and growing talent pool doesn't just sound good, it is good for business.

Time Zone

Being in the Eastern Standard Time zone is another feather in Colombia's cap, especially for U.S.-based companies.

Top-notch

Cost efficiency and top-notch professionals, matching or even exceeding the expertise of their peers from different countries. Colombia has talent, innovation, cost efficiency, and government support. It is a force to be reckoned with in the global tech landscape.
